Nesat, Haitang leave 1 missing, 131 injured in Taiwan

Taipei, July 31 (CNA) Typhoon Nesat and Tropical Storm Haitang have left one person missing and 131 injured in Taiwan, according to the latest statistics released by the Central Emergency Operation Center on Monday.

Of the 131 people injured, 54 were in Taipei City, 52 in Yilan County, 11 in Taichung City, 10 in Taoyuan City, three in New Taipei City, and one in Hsinchu County, showed the statistics, as of 1 p.m. on Monday.

The search is still ongoing for a man involved in a motorbike accident near a flooded area close to Freeway No. 3 in Pingtung County’s Nanzhou Township, the center said.

In addition, Nesat and Haitang caused flooding in 279 locations. In 77 the flood water has since subsided, though 202 remain flooded, according to the center.
