A cold air mass from southern China is continuing to move east toward Taiwan, and that means more wet, chilly weather in northern Taiwan. The Central Weather Bureau recorded a low temperature on Sunday of 11.4 degrees C in the coastal town of Tamsui, just north of central Taipei.

Forecasters say the persistent rain of the last couple of days could ease on Sunday, with the weather turning cloudy with a continued chance of intermittent rain. Forecasts showed lows on Sunday and Monday hovering between 11-13 degrees in the northern half of the island.

The cold air mass is expected to gradually weaken on Tuesday, bringing a rebound in temperatures, although intermittent rain is expected to continue through Tuesday.
