Prosecutors arraign builder of collapsed building

Prosecutors on Friday arraigned builder of the collapsed Weiguan residential 6734996building and searched his residence to look into cause of the building collapse following an earthquake that rattled southern Taiwan on Feb. 6.

The district prosecutor’s office in the city of Tainan has earlier gained court approval for detaining Lin Ming-hui, builder of the Weiguan building, and architects Chang Kui-an and Cheng Chin-kui, who were suspected of having overseen shoddy construction of the 17-story Weiguan building, which crashed onto its side following the Feb. 6 earthquake.     [FULL  STORY]
