Seoul, March 8 (CNA) Taiwan suffered its second defeat at the World Baseball Classic on Wednesday, losing to the Netherlands 5-6 in Seoul.

The loss left Taiwan with zero wins in Pool A after the team’s crushing 7-15 defeat by Israel on Tuesday.

In Wednesday’s game, Taiwan was ahead of the Dutch at the top of the third inning after Lin Chih-sheng (林智勝) gave a sacrifice fly to put Taiwan at 2-1.

However, the Netherlands regained the lead with three runs in the bottom fourth after their batters hit back-to-back singles off the Taiwanese pitcher, ending the inning with 4-2 advantage.    [FULL  STORY]
