Taiwan snatches table tennis men’s doubles gold at Universiade

Huang Sheng-sheng (黃聖盛) pulled off a 3-2 win over their Japanese counterparts to win men’s doubles gold medal at the 2015 University Games in Guangju, South Korea Sunday.

The Taiwanese beat the Japanese duo of Masataka Morizono and Yuya Oshima 4-11, 11-5, 12-10, 11-8 and 11-7 to defend Chinese Taipei’s men’s doubles title earned two years ago. Sunday’s win also marked Taiwan’s third gold in this event at the Universiade.

In women’s doubles, Taiwanese pair Lee Yi-chen (李依真) and Cheng Yi-ching (鄭怡靜) had to settle for silver after losing to China’s Che Xiaoxi (車曉曦) and Jiang Yue (江越) 2-4.     [FULL  STORY]
