Gwangju, South Korea, July 12 (CNA) Kelly Chang (張凱貞) of Taiwan won the gold 201507120010t0001medal in the tennis women’s singles Sunday at the 2015 Universiade in Gwangju, South Korea, beating Luksika Kumkhum of Thailand in two straight sets 6-1, 6-2.

Chang, ranked 201st in the world, trounced the 125th-ranked Kumkhum in less than an hour at the Yeomju Indoor Tennis Court.

Chang’s coach, Ho Kuo-lung (何國龍) said he would give her a 100-point score for “suppressing her rival throughout the game, without relenting for a moment.”

Chang herself was a bit more reserved in rating her victory, attributing it in part to playing on an indoor court because of rain.     [FULL  STORY]
