Taipei, July 3 (CNA) The baseball team of Hsin Ming Junior High School of Taoyuan, northern
Taiwan, won the title of the Junior League Baseball Asia-Pacific regional tournament on Sunday after beating their Chinese rivals with 10:0 in a five-inning called game.
The Hsin Ming nine, who represented Taiwan in the tournament which was held in southern Pingtung County from June 28 to July 3, have obtained the right to represent the Asia-Pacific region to participate in the Junior League Baseball World Series to be held Aug. 14-21 in Taylor, Michigan.
A total of six countries participated in the regional tournament, including China, Hong Kong, the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI), the Philippines, India and the host country, Taiwan. [FULL STORY]
