Taiwanese No. 1 Lu Yen-hsun qualifies for Olympics

Taiwanese No. 1 Lu Yen-hsun has qualified for the upcoming Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, the Chinese Taipei Tennis Association said on Saturday.

The association said in a statement that it had received confirmation from the International Tennis Federation that Lu has qualified for the men’s singles tournament at this year’s Olympic Games.

If Lu plays in Rio de Janeiro in August, it will be his fourth consecutive appearance at the Games.

Lu improved his ATP Tour ranking to the 78th on June 13 after winning the grass-court Surbiton Challenger in England, his first title of the year.     [FULL  STORY]
