Taipei, Oct. 17 (CNA) Taiwan’s Chuang Chia-chia (莊佳佳) finished in third
place Saturday in the women’s 67kg competition at the World Taekwondo Grand Prix in Manchester, the United Kingdom.
Chuang, who had sprained her ankle before the tournament, said it was pity she had placed only third.
The Taiwanese athlete lost to Haby Niare of France 2-3 in the semi-finals and finished tied with Hyeri Oh of South Korea in third place.
Chuang, the world’s No. 2 in the Olympic rankings in the 67kg category, said after the tournament that she had sprained her ankle during a practice session. She said he had to adjust her training schedule and spend more time receiving treatment so that she could be fit for the competition. [FULL STORY]
