Taipei, April 5 (CNA) Kuo Chun-lin (郭俊麟) of Taiwan pitched eight innings to help his team, the Seibu Lions, defeat the 2014 Japan Series champion the SoftBank Hawks 4-0 Sunday, his 2nd win since joining the Japanese professional baseball team.
Pitching at Seibu Prince Dome in Saitama Prefecture, the 23-year-old right-hander allowed four hits in the 1st, 4th, 7th and 8th innings. Kuo struck out three and walked three of the 28 batters in eight innings.
The Lions website called Kuo a “Taiwanese star” and said that his fast and well-controlled pitching made the batters of the strong Hawks perform poorly. [FULL STORY]
