Taipei, June 5 (CNA) An official of the Ministry of Economic Affairs said on Friday that Taiwanese products’ share in Vietnam’s total imported goods market has been declining in recent years to just 7.5% last year, lagging far behind China, South Korea and Japan.
In 2014, products from China occupied 30.3 percent of Vietnam’s market for imported products, those from South Korea 14.7 percent, Japan 8.7 percent, and Taiwan 7.5 percent, according to the official, who cited government statistics from Vietnam.
Despite the fact that Taiwan’s exports to Vietnam continued to grow over the past few years, from US$6.25 billion in 2009 to US$11.08 billion in 2014, Taiwan’s market share was dropping, said the official. [FULL STORY]
