Saturday afternoon at the Orient Golf & Country Club.

Taiwanese number one and world number 28 Teresa Lu (盧曉晴) took home the championship, along with a NT$1million cash prize.

“This is the first time a player from Taiwan has won the open in its five year history; the best gift the CTBC Bank could have asked for to celebrate the 50th anniversary,” said Chen Kuo-shih, vice chairman of CTBC Bank, at the trophy presentation ceremony held at the end of the event.

Lu posted 11 below par with a total of 169 over three rounds to win.

During the first two rounds, the eventual winner tied for third place with two other players, four strokes behind Thailand’s Saranporn Langkulgasettrin.

But Lu performed brilliantly in the final round, coming from behind to take the win and pushing Langkulgasettrin into second place.     [FULL STORY]
