Taipei, May 8 (CNA) Top Taiwanese badminton players Tai Tzu-ying (戴資穎) and Chou Tien-chen (周天成) will seek to defend their titles in the women’s and men’s singles at next month’s Chinese Taipei Open, event organizers said Monday.
The participation of women’s world No. 1 Tai and men’s world No. 6 Chou will highlight the tournament, which will take place from June 27 to July 2, the Chinese Taipei Badminton Association said.
The Chinese Taipei Open is a Grand Prix Gold tournament, the fourth highest tier of events behind the Olympics/World Championship, the BWF Superseries Finals, and Superseries tourneys, and will offer US$200,000 in prize money, the association said. [FULL STORY]
