As Taiwan’s senior athletes take to the field at the Asian Games in Indonesia, President Tsai has honored the young baseball players who are doing Taiwan proud at the international youth level.

President Tsai Ing-wen on Wednesday welcomed to the Presidential Office the players and coaches who have returned from victories in three age categories at the 2018 Pony League world series in the United States.

Teams from Taiwan won in the 11-12; 13-14 and 17-18 age categories. President Tsai hailed their achievements and said they show Taiwan has international class at the grassroots level of the game. She pledged more support for the development of the sport in Taiwan.

Tsai also encouraged the young players not to neglect their schoolwork as they aim for sporting glory.    [SOURCE]
