Taiwan will see “cloudy and cold” weather on Tuesday and Wednesday as a continental cold air mass moves southward.

Affected by the continental cold air, temperatures will drop more evidently in northern Taiwan on Tuesday and Wednesday, with the coldest temperatures in Taipei City being around 14 degrees Celsius, and 13 degrees on coastal and low lying areas, according to Wu. Mercury will fall slightly in central Taiwan over these two days, while southern Taiwan will see least temperature change with the weather pattern continuing to be cloudy to sunny, he said.    [FULL  STORY]

Mild weather expected to last until Sunday night

A welcome stretch of mild weather and sunny skies in Taiwan is expected to draw to a close on Sunday night with the arrival of a cold weather front.

The Central Weather Bureau says that after highs of up to 28 degrees Celsius in southern and eastern Taiwan, we’re looking at a dip in the mercury. Northern and eastern Taiwan can expect cold, wet weather between Monday and Wednesday.

CWB issues low temperature warning to 18 cities, counties

Taipei, March 1 (CNA) After days of cold and humid weather, temperatures will modestly rebound on Wednesday before a strong cold air mass arrives in the evening, the Central Weather Bureau said.

On Thursday, the mercury could dip to between 10 and 12 degrees Celsius north of Tainan, the bureau said.

Taipei, Feb. 24 (CNA) The current cold and wet weather in northern and northeastern Taiwan is likely to continue into Feb. 27, while another wave of cold air could hit Taiwan March 2, the Central Weather Bureau (CWB) said Friday.

Lows are expected to hover around 12 degrees Celsius in those areas between Friday, Feb. 24 and Feb. 27, with rain likely to make the weather feel even colder, the bureau said.

advisory for 16 cities and counties, although it said that a cold spell that has affected Taiwan since Thursday has started to weaken.

The 16 areas are Taipei, New Taipei, Keelung, Yilan, Taoyuan, Hsinchu County, Hsinchu City, Miaoli, Taichung, Changhua, Nantou, Yunlin, Chiayi County, Chiayi City, Lienjiang County, and Kinmen County.

On Sunday, a low of 8.4 degrees was registered in the early morning hours in Tamsui in New Taipei, while daytime highs across Taiwan are expected to surge just above 10 degrees Celsius, with central and southern Taiwan likely to experience highs above 20 degrees, according to the bureau.    [FULL  STORY]

Tuesday for areas across Taiwan, noting that coastal areas could see winds of up to 89 kilometers per hour, equivalent to a tropical storm.

The areas subject to the gale warning are New Taipei City, Keelung City, Yilan County, Taoyuan City, Hsinchu County, Hsinchu City, Miaoli County, Taichung City, Changhua County, Hualien County, Yunlin County, Chiayi County, Tainan City, Taitung County, Pingtung County, as well as the outlying counties of Lienchiang, Kinmen and Penghu.

the influence of a cold air mass, with highs below 20 degrees Celsius island wide, the Central Weather Bureau (CWB) said on Tuesday.

Lows in northern, central and northeastern Taiwan could range from 13 to 15 degrees, while other areas are likely to see temperatures of 16-18 degrees during the period, forecasters said.

In addition, showers are likely in northern and northeastern parts of the country, with mostly cloudy or sunny skies elsewhere, the bureau said.

Mercury forecast to drop to 11 degrees in northern Taiwan Friday

Taipei, Jan. 20 (CNA) Temperatures in northern Taiwan have begun to fall due to the arrival of a strong cold air mass and are likely to drop to around 11 degrees Celsius later Friday, according to the Central Weather Bureau (CWB).

The bureau said daytime highs of around 15-16 degrees Celsius could be expected Friday in northern Taiwan and 20-26 in other parts of the island.

However, by Friday night and into Saturday temperatures are forecast to drop to 11 degrees in northern Taiwan, 12 degrees in central Taiwan, 14 degrees in southern Taiwan, and 11-15 degrees in the east, according to the CWB.

Cooler weather and rain coming to northern Taiwan

Much cooler weather and rain is expected in northern Taiwan through Wednesday. The Central Weather Bureau (CWB) said Sunday that strong seasonal winds are bringing the temperatures down, with lows expected to dip to 14 degrees from late Monday into early Tuesday.

Forecasters say other areas in Taiwan will see minimum temperatures of 19-20 degrees through Wednesday.

Meanwhile, highs of 21-24 degrees are expected in the north, and 25-28 degrees throughout the rest of Taiwan over the next three days.

The weather is expected to turn slightly warmer on Thursday and Friday, before another cold weather system moves through Taiwan.    [SOURCE]

to 27 degrees Celsius and lows of around 17 to 21 degrees forecast for Wednesday, according to the Central Weather Bureau (CWB).

Dry and sunny weather prevailed throughout most of the country on Wednesday. Daytime highs on Wednesday reached 25 to 26 degrees in northern Taiwan and eastern Taiwan’s Yilan and Hualien counties and 26 to 27 degrees in central and southern Taiwan, it said.

This pattern will last into Saturday, the bureau said.

Temperatures should start falling on Sunday as seasonal northeasterly winds strengthen, sending the highs three degrees lower in northern and eastern Taiwan to around 22 to 24 degrees, the bureau said.

On Jan. 9 and 10, areas north of central Taiwan are expected to see lows of 14 to 15 degrees, and lows in other parts of the island will be about 17 degrees, the bureau said.    [FULL  STORY]
