National women’s basketball team gets new player

Taipei women’s basketball team that is scheduled to participate in the 37th William Jones Cup later this month, the secretary of the Chinese Taipei Basketball Association said Tuesday.

The tournament will be held July 27-31 at the Taipei Gymnasium. Taiwan’s women’s national teams, ROC A and ROC B ranked 4th and 5th, respectively, in last year’s competition.

Burke, who plays in the National Collegiate Athletic Association for the Arizona State Sun Devils, is 1.96 meters tall. The 24-year-old center played 33 games in the 2013-14 season, averaging 7.3 points on 51.4 shooting, 4.8 rebounds and 0.4 assists per game.     [FULL  STORY]
