Taipei, Nov. 20 (CNA) Taiwanese golfer Teresa Lu (盧曉晴) won the Daio Paper Elleair Ladies Open
2016 in Japan on Sunday, for her third victory on the professional golf circuit this year.
Lu achieved the triumph by firing a four-under-par 68 in the fourth round of the Japan Ladies Professional Golf Association (JLPGA) tournament, carding a total 24-under 264 in the four-round game at the Elleair Golf Club in Matsuyama City, Ehime Prefecture.
The final round of the tournament was tense for the 29 year-old, who was in first place after the third round with a four-under 196. She faced strong competition from Japan’s Mamiko Higa, who was a mere four strokes behind before the beginning of Sunday’s game.
Higa grabbed a birdie at the first hole and got an eagle at the fifth, raising the tension even further, according to media reports from Japan. [FULL STORY]
